Being popular isn’t easy. It’s hard to beat Saku Chitose. The most popular kid in his high school? Check. An ironclad reputation that can weather even vicious online attacks? Check. A group of friends as attractive on the outside as they are inside? Check. But when a teacher asks for his help bringing back a student who has been shut away in his room for months, Saku’s perfect world will never be the same. What is this, some kind of normie harem story...? (Source: Yen Press) Note: The first episode has an extended runtime of ~34 minutes.

Season picksDecentFall 2025Basically My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU if Hachiman were the popular, well-adjusted guy everyone wants. Fantastically produced but full of contrived, pretentious dialogue, and the narcissistic, constantly negging protagonist is aggravating. Still recommended to animation lovers who can keep their passion for writing in check.
Worst of the seasonDecentFall 2025The initially off-putting, insufferable first impression is a deliberate ruse that pays off after a four-episode test. The protagonist is believably hot, kind and talented, the male supporting cast is as developed as the girls, and romances go places fast. The perfect antidote to harem fatigue, too good to warrant a trash rating.
