Meet Takuya Seo, an otaku who sits behind the popular gals in class, Ijichi and Amane. Since they're people from different "castes," you wouldn't expect them to have much in common. But when their worlds collide over a borrowed eraser, Takuya slips up about his favorite anime, and Amane...is rather quick to correct him. She says she's not a fan, but her familiarity with the series suggests otherwise. Could she be...a fellow geek?!

Season picksWorth a lookSpring 2026A gyaru-meets-otaku romcom where the nerd loves a little-girl Pokemon and Pretty Cure style show that a model classmate secretly loves even more, while her kind non-nerd friend has better chemistry with him. A rare love triangle built on good vibes instead of catty competition. Phenomenal character acting and an easy recommendation for love story fans.
Worst of the seasonBad but funSpring 2026An otaku bonds with his class's part-time model over a shared love of magical girl anime while her best friend thinks they are adorable. It refreshingly adds distinctly shojo notes to the loser-dates-the-hottest-girls formula and focuses on the feminine side of fandom, while still building toward a three-way romance. Four baskets of sweet rolls.
