An MMO gamer awakens as the Black-Winged Tyrant, Lufas Maphaahl, rising from her sealed fate—only to find this is very real. Her defeat 200 years ago unleashed monsters of death, and the legend is one of terror. Now, trapped in the body of history’s most feared conqueror, he must survive a world that wants her dead…and uncover why he’s here.

Season picksDecentFall 2025Basically Overlord at home with a gender-bending twist: a player is reincarnated as his Albedo-like final boss character 200 years after conquering the game world. A surprisingly thoughtful isekai with an interesting world and at times gorgeous cinematic action. It comes very close to earning a strong recommendation despite those caveats.
Worst of the seasonBad but funFall 2025An MMO conqueror returns 200 years later as his own OP waifu avatar Lufas and roams anonymously to reunite her army. It initially looks like Overlord at home, but Overlord might be this at home: her return is a geopolitical deal, the avatar's own memories may be overwriting him, and a quiet melancholy runs under the goofy road trip. Epic fights and fun party members earn three golden dumpsters, possibly four.
