Senpai’s take
Season picksMust watchSummer 2024From the Hyouka author, two weird high schoolers suppress their detective instincts to become ordinary while solving tiny mysteries like a missing bag or a perfect cup of cocoa. Letterboxed, avant-garde editing and impeccable direction make the mundane feel larger than life. Love it or hate it like Hyouka: boring if subtle character growth is not your thing, unmatched if it is.
