The year is 2045, in a world where songs have been banned. Instead of humans playing instruments and creating music, a music app titled "MiucS" is in charge of these things. High school student Seria goes out with her friends one day, but she happens to hear someone singing, which is supposed to be prohibited. What she finds is a lone ghost, a "Great Ghost" who has appeared from outside this world. Now Seria must decide whether to stay silent or risk everything to bring music back to the world.
The verdict
Season picksDecentSpring 2026An original mixed-media music project where singing is outlawed because Cleopatra's horny ghost steals singers' bodies for stand battles, like Fate, Shaman King, Symphogear and Carole and Tuesday dropped down the stairs. A rare true so-bad-it's-good show. The music is genuinely as good as everything else is bad; one out of ten, cannot recommend it enough.
Worst of the seasonBad but funSpring 2026An original battle musical from Symphogear creator Noriyasu Agematsu, written and directed by Masato Jinbo, where the heroine recruits ghosts of figures like Tesla through rock opera duets. The songs are listenable, but music videos blur what is real, there is about two minutes of plot per episode, and it feels like a 25-episode script randomly cut to 12, so characters and whole organizations appear and vanish. An eagerly anticipated, glorious train wreck, 4.5 on a deliberately silly scale.
