Van, fourth son of a marquis, is just a toddler when he realizes he’s been reincarnated. Thanks to his literal lifetime of knowledge, he’s raised as a child prodigy—until his production magic manifests, and it’s the last thing his snooty mage family wants to see! His disappointed father banishes him to a podunk town on the verge of collapse, yet Van can only see the place’s potential. Can our hero’s bastion of battlements build a better life than battle magic ever could?!

Season picksMust watchWinter 2026A noble child banished for weak production magic secretly turns a nameless village into a fortress. Despite low initial expectations, the impressionistic opening, an Azumanga Daioh-style OP and a cast of goofy little guys prove charming, and the reason for the banishment actually makes sense. A deliberately zen, relaxing watch for when you are overwhelmed.
Worst of the seasonBad but funWinter 2026A reincarnated salaryman prodigy with make-anything magic scratches the validation itch, but the real draw is that it plays like a city builder, where the numbers are population, resources and economy. It is far better than Kunon in every respect, including the funnier maid.
