Season picksMust watchSpring 2024From comedy legend Shinji Takamatsu, a down-on-his-luck chef becomes breakfast cook at a share house full of weirdos and falls for the landlady, who is secretly an exiled alien princess. A throwback to Maison Ikkoku and 80s anime that may feel alienating to viewers unfamiliar with Japanese culture or the classics it riffs on. Few animated comedies execute the house-of-eccentrics premise with this much personality and visual panache.
